Superbus

Buses aren't generally considered glamorous, but that could change once the Superbus hits the streets.

It looks like a very long stretch limo and is about half the height of a normal single-decker bus. It also promises to work unlike a regular bus, travelling at a top speed of 250km per hour in special lane separated from normal traffic. Software will take care of steering and passengers will be able to book a place on the bus using the internet or by sending a text message.

The Superbus has been designed by a team from Delft University of Technology, led by Antonia Terzi (ex-head aerodynamicist of the BMW-Williams F1 team) and Wubbo Ockels (the first, and only, Dutchman in space).

Still its developers say you should be able to book a trip on a prototype in 2008 but, while you're waiting for it to arrive, check out this cool promotional video.

Walking on Water

Three monks decided to practice meditation together. They sat by the side of a lake and closed their eyes in concentration. Then suddenly, the first one stood up and said, "I forgot my mat." He steeped miraculously onto the water in front of him and walked across the lake to their hut on the other side.

When he returned, the second monk stood up and said, "I forgot to put my the other underwear to dry." He too walked calmly across the water and returned the same way. The third monk watched the first two carefully in what he decided must be the test of his own abilities. "Is your learning so superior to mine? I too can match any feat you two can perform," he declared loudly and rushed to the water's edge to walk across it. He promptly fell into the deep water.

Undeterred, the yogi climbed out of the water and tried again, only to sink into the water. Yet again he climbed out and yet again he tried, each time sinking into the water. This went on for some time as the other two monks watched.

After a while, the second monk turned to the first and said, "Do you think we should tell him where the stones are?"

Super Fat Cat

The photo taken on Feb. 16, 2006 shows a super fat cat at Xu Jirong's home in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province. Xu said his nine-year-old pet weighs 15 kilograms and that its "waist" measures around 77 centimeters, longer than a girl's. The cat likes meat but does not eat fish. It eats one steamed bread and half a bowl of chicken heart and some pork every day.

Maybe she is fat, but is so cute.

Beautiful Mammatus Clouds

Mammatus (also known as mamma or mammatocumulus) is a meteorological term applied to a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud, often a cumulus or cumulonimbus. Their color is normally a bluish gray, the same as that of the host cloud, but direct illumination from the setting sun and other clouds may cause a gold or reddish cast. Mammatus can persist anywhere from minutes to hours, diffusing and disappearing over time.

Mammatus only occur where cumulonimbus are present; however, they can drift up to 25 miles away from a thunderstorm. The atmosphere must also meet certain conditions, which include a moist and unstable middle to upper atmosphere over a very dry, lower layer of the atmosphere. An updraft then must occur, which shapes the mammatus into the pouch-like shape.

Most mammatus clouds are formed in the eastern United States during warm months, and rarely on the west coast of the U.S., but can also occur in mountain regions with dry conditions.

Mammatus has often been linked with the occurrence of tornadoes, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s. Though tornadic storms often produce mammatus under their downwind anvil, many weak storms and even stratiform clouds also produce mammatus. Contrary to common misconceptions, mammatus are not precursors to tornadoes, but are a possible byproduct.

Mona Lisa around the world

Mona Lisa, or La Gioconda, is a 16th century oil painting on poplar wood by Leonardo da Vinci and is one of the most famous paintings in Western art history; few other works of art are as romanticized, celebrated, or reproduced. It is owned by the French government and hangs in the Musée du Louvre in Paris.

The painting shows a woman looking out at the viewer with what is described as an "enigmatic smile".

Now let's imagine that Mona Lisa goes around the world, and in every country she get a new look. :)

Naughty tooth brush

The word naughty at one time was an all-purpose word similar to bad. During the 16th century one could use naughty to mean "unhealthy, unpleasant, bad (with respect to weather), vicious (of an animal), inferior, or bad in quality" (one could say "very naughtie figes" or "naughty corrupt water"). All of these senses have disappeared, however, and naughty is now used mainly in contexts involving mischief or indecency. This recalls its early days in Middle English (with the form noughti), when the word was restricted to the senses "evil, hostile, ineffectual, and needy." Middle English noughti, first recorded in the last quarter of the 14th century, was derived from nought, which primarily meant "nothing" but was also used as a noun meaning "evil" and as an adjective meaning such things as "immoral, weak, useless." Thus naughty, in a sense, has risen from nothing, but its fortunes used to be better than they are at present.

Let's be creative : Take 2 "naughty" tooth brush and let's see some action.

Crazy hairstyles 2

Wednesday, April 19, 2006

For humans, a haircut, hairstyle or hairdo normally describes cutting or styling head hair, rather than other body hair such as facial, underarm hair, or pubic. Unlike other animals, human beings of many cultures cut their hair, rather than letting it grow naturally. Hair styles are often used to signal cultural, social, and ethnic identity. Hair styles in both men and women also vary with current fashion trends.

Some time ago I've posted in my blog something about Crazy & Hair. There I've put some pictures with some crazy haircuts. Now let's see more ...

Could this be named a hiarcut ?

Would you let me bite your breasts ?

A guy walking down the street sees a woman with perfect breasts. He says to her, “Hey miss, would you let me bite your breasts for $100 dollars?

“Are you nuts? !!” she replies, and keeps walking away. He turns around, runs around the block and gets to the corner before she does.

“Would you let me bite your breasts for $1,000 dollars?” he asks again.

“Listen you; I’m not that kind of woman! Got it?” So the guy runs around the next block and faces her again. “Would you let me bite your breasts just once for $10,000 dollars?”

She thinks about it for a while and says, “Hmmm, $10,000 dollars, eh? Ok, just once, but not here. Let’s go to that dark alley over there.”

So they go into the alley, where she takes off her blouse to reveal the most perfect breasts in the world. As soon as he sees them, he grabs them and starts caressing them, fondling them slowly, kissing them, licking them, burying his face in them, but not biting them.
